Founded in 1941 during the turmoil of the Second World War, St David’s Marist Inanda emerged from a bold and faith-filled vision of the Marist Brothers. Expanding on the legacy of Marist Koch Street (1889) and Marist Observatory (1924), the new College responded to growing demand while committing itself to a values-based education rooted in the spirit of St Marcellin Champagnat. The Confortare Award recognises those who have served or been formed by the College and who exemplify humility, simplicity, courage and conviction in their contribution to society. The first award was conferred posthumously on Brother Jude Pieterse (1939–2022).

On Friday the 27th we hosted a conversation about something every single one of our has faced: Setbacks. Whether in sports, academics, friendships or personal goals, we all know what it feels like when things don’t go our way.

St David’s Marist Inanda proudly marked its 85th Birthday with a joyful day of celebration, reflection and community spirit.

We congratulate the Matric Class of 2025 on an excellent set of results in the IEB Matric Exams, achieving a remarkable 100% Pass Rate and a 100% Bachelor Degree Pass. We couldn't be prouder of these fine young men. 

A profound and joyous celebration took place in our Chapel of Mary, where our young men were sealed with the Gift of the Holy Spirit during the Sacrament of Confirmation, celebrated by His Eminence Stephen Cardinal Brislin, Archbishop of Johannesburg.

A beautiful and grace-filled celebration was held in our Chapel of Mary, as our young boys received Jesus in the Holy Eucharist for the very first time.

The 2025 St David’s Summer Festival has come and gone and despite some unseasonably cold and rainy weather on the Highveld, it all came to a glorious conclusion on Sunday with a thrilling (rain-interrupted) under-18 final of the Fasken Inanda Hoops basketball tournament.

As if organising a four day-event across three sporting codes, involving close to 1000 players and over 100 officials wasn’t difficult enough, Saturday dawned cold and misty, with intermittent rain throughout the day, and Sunday’s final basketball game was suspended due to a thunderstorm, with just four minutes remaining on the clock.
