Thought Leadership on Full Display at the House Directors' Symposium

15 Jun 2026

Thought leadership, collaboration and a shared commitment to education were at the core of the House Directors' Symposium hosted by St David's Marist Inanda on Thursday 11 June.

Bringing together pastoral leaders and educators, the symposium provided a valuable platform to exchange ideas, strengthen professional networks, and explore innovative approaches to student wellbeing, character formation and leadership development.

As schools continue to navigate an increasingly complex educational landscape, the role of pastoral care has never been more critical. Meaningful conversations throughout the day reinforced the importance of intentional leadership and creating environments where every boy feels known, valued and empowered to thrive.

Reflecting on the significance of the gathering, St David's Marist Inanda College Deputy Head: Student Affairs, Mrs Cwayita Fungeni, shared:"Ultimately, our work is about young people. Every conversation we had, every idea we shared, and every relationship we built had one goal: to better serve the boys entrusted to our care. Through strong pastoral systems, meaningful relationships and purposeful leadership, we help shape character, nurture belonging and develop young students who will make a positive contribution to the world."

Thank you to all the educational leaders who contributed their expertise, insight and passion. Together, we continue to advance the conversation around holistic education and the transformative impact of exceptional pastoral care.
