MyDifference Programme

Support the St David’s Old Boys’ Bursary Fund through MyDifference (Woolworths) - formerly MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet programme

In 2016 the St David’s Marist Foundation registered with My Village to assist the St David’s Old Boys Association with raising funds for the Maristonian, as a community-building facility.  With the Maristonian having been successfully built the focus for this registration has now changed to supporting the St David's Old Boys' Bursary Fund.

MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet is one of South Africa’s biggest community fundraising programmes and has recently partnered exclusively with Woolworths - relaunching as MyDifference on the Woolworths website and app.

With this relaunch and rebranding come some significant changes which impact the process used to support causes on the Platform. The primary change is that all current supporters of nonprofits need to reselect their nonprofit/causes else their support for their organization will no longer continue after the switch-over.  New sign-ups for support will also be managed through the Woolworths app in the same way.

The following changes will be implemented with the launch of the MyDifference programme:

  • MyDifference is now on the Woolies app, meaning that you now select the cause you’d like to contribute to through the Woolies app
  • Physical MySchool and WRewards cards will continue to work until 31 March 2026, after which these cards will be discontinued
  • Customers need to actively select/reselect their beneficiary causes on the app during the open selection period, ending in June 2026, to continue generating funds for their chosen cause. This means that should you wish your contribution to go to the St David’s Marist Inanda Foundation you have until 30 June 2026 to reselect the Foundation as your cause.

You may select up to three causes for support - St David’s Marist Inanda, previously registered with the MySchool aspect of the programme, also continues on MyDifference as a cause to be selected/reselected. Funds raised through the St David’s Marist Inanda registration, which is led by the St David’s PTA, have brought in substantial funds to date for St David’s Marist Inanda for various projects, including campus development.

Since the St David’s Marist Foundation’s MyVillage registration first activated in 2016 119 supporters have raised R171 926 for the St David’s Old Boys Association’s philanthropic endeavours.  We would love to keep this momentum going and add new supporters -  the Old Boys' Bursary Fund is awarded by the St David’s Old Boys’ Association either to the son of an alumnus who may have fallen on difficult times or another appropriately identified candidate, to enable them to receive and complete their St David’s education.

How to select your cause:

With the new changes to the programme, we would like to make the transition to MyDifference as easy and seamless as possible for you, should you experience any difficulties on the Woolworths app in finding us.
