Business in Education B-BBEE Bursary Fund
“Growing tomorrow’s business leaders together”
The Business in Education Fund was created to enable corporate and business enterprises to partner with the Foundation in realising measurable and quality education intervention programmes, through full bursaries to St David’s for identified learners from historically disadvantaged backgrounds. The introduction of the Revised Broad-Based Black Empowerment Codes of Good Practice created various opportunities through which corporate and business funders can benefit when making contributions to the St David’s Marist Foundation. The Business in Education BEE Fund was launched at the JSE on 3 March 2016 at a special 'Opening of the Market' breakfast where St David's Marist Inanda became the first school to open the JSE. Please see below for the JSE media release on the opening.
The Foundation has both the structure and the strategic approach through which to successfully engage enterprise in this arena, and was specifically designed to allow for the separate accounting and reporting process required by the B-BBEE codes, to give corporate funders maximum scoring benefit in the SED and SD categories.
