Matric Class of 2022 Bursary Fund
Creating Access to Educational Excellence
Three years of a global pandemic and its aftermath has highlighted and exacerbated the deep divide that continues to exist in our South African society. We continue to look for ways to increase access to quality education at St David’s, believing that the young men matriculating from our school are equipped to find solutions to the systemic issues that perpetuate societal inequalities. As has been done over the past few years the School will be contributing money to the Class of 2022 Bursary Fund. The decision to reduce the amount spent on marketing the St David's Matric results and redirect these funds to creating access to St David's through our bursary programme is an appropriate way to honour our Matric Class of 2022. The Class of 2022 Matric Bursary Fund already holds the funds that the 2022 Matrics have contributed over time through their annual Montagne Day Pledge giving (a total of just over R12 000). We hope that over time they will continue to grow this fund in thanksgiving for the education they have received at St David's Marist Inanda.
Through the generosity of so many in our community and from businesses sharing this vision, our Foundation has committed over R4.5 million in bursary funding to the school for 2023.
St David’s Bursary Programme, to which donations to the Matric Class of 2022 Bursary Fund will be directed, aims to create access to St David’s through ensuring that a lack of financial means is no obstacle to obtaining a St David’s education and to ensure that all boys entering St David’s on our programme have every chance of success.
