IMG 4850

On 18th October 2016 St David's Marist Inanda donated trees, vegetables and herbs and volunteered time at Ekhukhanyesweni Primary School in Alexandra, Johannesburg. Pupils and teachers from Ekhukhanyesweni thoroughly enjoyed getting involved in planting the trees alongside the 42 St David's Marist volunteers who included Mr Ireland, Mrs Tangney, Mrs Kennedy, Mrs Smith, Ms Budd, Mrs Fisher-Gietzmann and Mrs Hutter, Grade 5H and ten Grade 11 boys representing the four School Houses. St David's also donated 50 additional trees to schools and cooperatives in Alexandra - bringing the total number of trees donated to 75, in honour of St David’s 75th Jubilee Year.

The attached report received from Food and Trees for Africa gives a summary of the planting day and tree distributions, plus includes thank-you letters from several of the Alex schools.

Welcome from the St David's Marist Inanda PTA

STD PTA logo FIN lr

The St David’s Marist Inanda Parent Teachers Association consists of a vibrant, energetic and committed group of parents, teachers, and representatives from School Management, the St David’s Marist Foundation and the Marist Old Boys. The PTA at St David's is a sub-committee of the Board of Governors, and the Chairman sits as an ex-officio member on the Board, feeding relevant information into the Board's decision making processes.

The mandate of the PTA has a number of arms to it including both 'fun-raising' and fundraising through community events and initiatives. However, it is also a vital link between the School and the parent body, acting as a sounding board to the school’s management on all issues pertaining to the educational welfare of our boys.

The strength of St David's lies in its very strong sense of community and there are a number of ways in which our parent body can become involved in the life of the School- PTA being one of these. Whether you would like to become a PTA Committee member or just be involved in supporting us in one of our events or initiatives, we invite you to get involved. We also encourage you to support our fundraising efforts by signing up to the My School Card programme, through which we raise significant funds each year (click here). You can make contact with us at

We look forward to meeting many of you at School or PTA events and to working with you to the benefit of our boys and this great school.
